Description
Pebeo Phosphorescent Acrylic Mediums need to capture sunlight in order to glow at night (light is released in the dark). The gel will be touch-dry in approximately 4 hours, and completely dry in 24 hours.
These UV paints are opaque and can be painted onto surfaces such as wood, plaster, paper, cardboard, pre-painted acrylic surfaces, canvas and more. A 100ml tube of UV Paint will cover approximately 0.25 metres when applied in a thickness of 1.5mm. The thicker you apply the paint the more fluorescent it will be.
Phosphorescent VS Fluorescent Paint
Phosphorescent paint (also known as Glow-in-the-dark paint) gives off an otherwordly glow in darkness. It is made from phosphors such as silver-activated zinc sulfide, or strontium aluminate, and typically glows a pale green to greenish blue colour. Phosphorescent paint is “charged” by exposure to light, produces a sustained glow in the darkness, which lasts for some minutes or hours, but will eventually fade over time. This type of paint typically look colourless or very pale in daylight.
Fluorescent paint does not glow in the dark, but does glow very intensely under so-called black lights. This type of paint reacts to long-wave ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly known as black light. Through the mechanism of fluorescence, UV-sensitive pigments present in the paint absorb the ultraviolet black light (invisible to the human eye) and give off visible light in return. Fluorescent paint appears a bright neon color under normal daylight or other visible light, and glows brilliantly under black light.
